It is exciting to see other Shannons from New Jersey. The following is what I know about my Shannon roots: The 1880 Federal Census lists Patrick Shannon, born in Ireland circa 1828, his wife, Mary Dolan Shannon, born in Ireland circa 1840 and their children living on Sand Hill Road, Bordentown, New Jersey. Patrick is listed as a farm hand and the couple had eight children: John born circa 1862 in Ireland Vianna born circa 1864 in Ireland Michael born circa 1866 in New Jersey Maurice born circa 1866 in New Jersey Catherine born September 8, 1867 in Bordentown, New Jersey Ellen born circa 1869 in New Jersey William born circa 1873 in New Jersey Edward born circa 1875 in New Jersey. As you can imagine, I have found out that there are several Patrick Shannons.
