    3. Mike, You have been silent for a long time. Since we last made contact, my wife and I have abandoned Kentucky to move to Nelson Co. VA. It is a beautiful place. We live not far from the old land of Samuel Shannon, his brother Thomas and their brother-in-law, Wm. Crow. We are somewhat farther from the old land of their nephew Thomas Shannon (son of John Shannon and Mary Reid). We have also located the land of Alexander Reid, the father-in-law or this younger Thomas Shannon. 3. i'm very interested in the website "The Shannon Family of East Tennessee". In the fourth generation, you show sons Robert Shannon Jr and Thomas Shannon. You indicate that Thomas Shannon married "Eigness" (or Agnes) Reid. I assume that this is the Thomas Shannon who died in Lancaster Co, PA in 1737, leaving a will. You also mention that Samuel Shannon, son of this Thomas Shannon, settled in Nashville. Do you have any additional information on this branch of the Shannon family? My 4-great grandmother was Susannah Shannon Ewing, wife of Andrew Ewing, one of the early settlers of Nashville (and a signer of the Cumberland Compact). Family records say she was the daughter of Thomas Shannon, but do not otherwise identify her. Her daughter, Elizabeth Ewing, married a Thomas Shannon. Andrew Ewing's mother (or perhaps his step-mother, records are unclear) was Ann Shannon, but again I have not been able to place her. Supposedly she was from Philadelphia. Any help in placing my Shannon ancestors would be greatly appreciated. 3. Joyce, send me your address at the following email and I will send the photo of Henry to you and also one of my uncle so you can see the resemblance. Heck, I may send all the copies of the Shannon's so you can see them. Do you have photos of any of your Shannon's? I would love those copies if you have them. I have discovered you can get an 8x10 page done for 99 cents at mailboxes etc or a place like kinkos. They have a color copier that even makes a nice photo out of a black and white. The families tie together in Cass County IOWA, my George being there when it's first incorporated and so was Samuel. Can anyone connect these two Shannons? It's still a very small town Atlantic Cass Co,IA. I think it would be quite odd if the families were not related somehow. The town did not exsist until 1852. Please help if you can. Also, I have a photo of Henry and there is quite a resemblance between him and my great Uncle Leroy "Roy" Shannon. b:1886 Regards, Sallie
