    3. It seems if you can only guess or hope you belong no one will help. Only if you can prove it. I have much on my line and can only get to 1829. The names are so common it makes it all the more difficult. I imagine we are all related one way or the other because the Shannon's spread very quickly. I have many pictures to share and everything I find I share and like Welthy I also contact others in the line. Some NEVER respond. Hi, I think what happened is that the only Shannons who have sense enough to work together are the decendants of Samuel Shannon and Jean Reid. I personally have collected any Shannon information I can and if I see a query I check to see if I have ANYTHING on that family. Many times I have had and have sent it on to the inquirer. Shannon Hi Jimmy, I'm doing some research on Andrew P. Shannon, who was born in about 1814 in either TN or MS. I noticed a family tree was submitted by you concerning Andrew Pickins Shannon. Apparently these are the same person. I believe he passed away sometime between 1873-1880 in the vicinity of Tarrant Co., TX. Any information or direction about this, would be greatly appreciated. 3. Bev, I did too, I also deleted it...then got a virus from the Augustine family. Must be a worm that attaches to email and has gone through the Shannon Rootsweb page. My Norton's deleted it for me. 1. [SHANNON-L] Shannon family in Portage County, Ohio
    2. Signe Jacobson
    3. Hello! I am searching for information about the Shannon family and migration into NE Ohio. Here's the information I have...I've hit a brick wall as to the origin of this family. All I know is that they resided in Brimfield, Portage County, Ohio. Silas Shannon was a cooper (barrel maker) by trade and ran a cooper's shop in Brimfield. Silas Shannon (b.ca. 1820) married Louisa Moulton (b. ca. 1823) in Portage County, Ohio on January 21, 1844. They had 6 children: Sarah E. Shannon (b. ca. 1845) Mariah L. Shannon (b. September 9, 1846 d. April 20, 1906) William A. Shannon (b. ca. 1849) Warren Shannon (b. ca 1858) Charles Shannon Josephine "Josie" Estella Shannon (b. September 6, 1864 d. January 2, 1939 m. Richard "Dick" Riley Bunker October 13, 1884) Josie is my great grandmother. Josie, Richard, and Mariah are buried at the Restland Cemetery in Brimfield, Ohio. Any help would be most gratefully appreciated. Signe Jacobson
