    3. Apparently the first half was actually deleted since it did not come through. I was noting that there is a large picture of Patrick Shannon, who I believe was a Boston Police Officer about 1919, in O'Connell's Pub (which used to be Shannon's Pub) in Doolin (Ireland). When I was there in the mid-80's, I met a Paddy Shannon who had their family tree to include Officer Patrick Shannon. I was saying that this is not my branch as far as I can tell and only posted as frequently law enforement runs in families so perhaps there was a connection to the NH officer. 3. Hello Bev. My great grandparents were Thomas John Shannon married Mary Blake and both were from County Cavan, Ireland as shown on the Marriage Cert. of my grandfather, John Shannon who married Catherine Keogh in l867 and then settled in The Glebe, NSW. Australia, were my grandparents. I have only ever found one of my grandfather's brothers who came to Australia and married a Kate McGovern. She also came from County Cavan, Ire. I am a very old person now and my mother was Winifred Agnes Shannon who married Augustus George Veness in Glebe, where they had ten children to the marriage, and I am the only one left. She was the last born to John and Catherine, her twin sister dying at birth. I have found lots of records in Australia for them and their descendants but can find no trace of them in Ireland and although there are lots of Shannon and my grandmother's people (Keogh) arrived in Australia I cant match them up at all. I really feel that all of my Shannon's from Thomas John & Mary who immigrated, came to Australia. So sorry I cannot bring you better news. Shirley Parker.

    3. Hi. I am trying to find out where /*Philip Thomas Shannon */is buried. We know he has died, but we don't know where or who pronounced him dead. According to the SSI his last known address was in Chester N.Y. (Orange County) Zip 10918. He was born on July 1, 1911 died in March of 1976. His SS # is 164-18-9676. He was a twin to Thomas F Shannon. Other siblings are: Bill, Joseph, John, Genevieve (Jean), Nellie (Eleanor) The only document I have on Philip is a marriage certificate to Madeline O'Keefe (divorced) . He had a son by her. The Shannon's (I think) originated from Phila., Pa. they are scattered all over now. I have 2 more names of his siblings. I have all their children's names. I will be glad to share what information I have with you. I do know there was a Todd Shannon searching for Philip's twin (Thomas F Shannon who would of been his grandfather). He posted his inquiry on ancestry Aug. 26, 1999. I tried e-mailing Todd Shannon but his address is no longer valid. I hope you can help me. I would gladly appreciate it. Sincerely meant, Bev

    1. [SHANNON] Calla Shannon Martin
    2. My theory that Calla Martin was the dau of Lafayette has just been proven by the registrar in Auglaize. I asked her for the info and she was kind enough to let me know that Calla (from the DC) was indeed the dau of Lafayette Shannon. Calla Martin died 10/25/1967 in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County. On the 1910 and the 1920 there is (what I believe to be) her sister living with her, Zida, seen as Zeda and later as Ida. In 1930 this sister is with Emma Wolfe and listed as niece. Emma Wolfe is the "Christie Emma" on the census with the family of Isaac and Margaret Shannon family. Emma married Franklin Pierce Wolfe and their second child was named Franklin Lafayette Wolfe (can there be any doubt that Lafayette was her brother?) :-) My theory was correct then, Calla and Ida/Zeda/Zida were sisters and their Aunt was indeed Christie "Emma" Shannon Wolfe! 2. hi Shannon Searchers, please post to the entire list any information shared. It goes to our archives & some years down the road, it could be so helpful to other researchers. We all like to read other Shannon families just in case we have a brick wall & might get a clue. Our list is not so busy that we would be bogged down reading replies. thanks & good luck everyone, Joyce ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

    3. hi walter, its been a long time hope you are doing well. Hester Ann was Lafayette's sister this was in a family file at the genealogical section at the museum here in allen county. she was born sep 7 1848 in clark county. i have her married to a thomas shepard hanthorn june 18 1866 in allen county ohio . she is listed with isaac shannon family in 1860 census of allen co. perry twp ohio. this census has isaac as J W Shanon and everyone else is listed by the initials. Its upsetting that the census taker did not think it important to SPELL their first names. anyway hester is listed as H.A she is 11 yrs old the family is also listed in clark county moorefield twp in 1850 again the census taker used intials and the transcriber spelled the name shaner, thats why i had a hard time finding them, but you can tell by looking at it that its spelled shanon. boy you truely have to be a detective doing this don't you? I never found hester in the 1870 census with isaac and margaret but she would have been 21 and may have been married by then..i hope this helps some...christina -------Original Message------- From: shannon@rootsweb.com Date: 06/01/07 09:27:02 To: shannon@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [SHANNON] Lafayette & Emma Shannon Hi Christina, Been meaning to write to you, but sort of forgot in the "shuffle". Am I right that Lafayette Shannon had a daughter Hester Ann that married Shepherd Hanthorn? If that is true, I wonder if Lafayette could have been related to the Thomas Shannon who was in Ross County in 1820 and 1830--who supposedly had a daughter Hester Ann? That's the only time I've seen those 2 names together--Hester and Ann, so winder if it is a clue? I have a Family Group Sheet for the Ross County Thomas Shannon- but wonder how accurate it is. I can send you a copy of that F.G.S. if you like.
