It seems that a bunch of SHANNONs drifted in and out of Auglaize Co. OH. The 1900 Federal Census has Lafayette Shannon in Clay Twp., Auglaize Co. OH. Household/family 171/171 Lafayette Shannon, head, Jan 1851 age 49, m. 24 yrs, OH/OH/OH farmer; Marzella, wife, Jan 1852, age 49 [?], m. 24 yrs, 6 kids/4 living, OH/OH/OH; May A., dau, Feb 1879 age 20; Gida?, dau, Feb 1881, age 19; Calla? J., dau, Apr 1884, age 16; William, son, Jan 1890, age 11. Auglaize Co. marriages 1848-1898 says Lafayette Shannon m. Zella L. Miller Sep 28, 1876 vol. 4, p. 380. There are a few SHANNONs in the book Probate Births 1867-1877, but no kids of theirs. Oddly, there is not a single Shannon listed in Probate Births 1877-1887 or Probate Births 1887-1897. Maybe they all went back to Clark to give birth? In searching census records for my Marcellous Shannon I have noted that there are a number of Shannons in Auglaize 1870-1900, so it's odd there are few births recorded. It appears your Isaac is the Isaac W. Shannon who d. Clay Twp., Auglaize Co. age 72 on Jan 31, 1887 of Palsy. I know that a Margaret Shannon appears as head of household in one of the censuses, but I have to look for it again. Can you identify Elizabeth Shannon b. PA who d. Oct 21, 1875 Union Twp., Auglaize Co. aged 54y 10m 11d? Retta, None of my direct line went to Missouri. My line is this; John(Scotland-1500's)>John Jr.(Scotland went to N. Ireland)>Robert (N. Ireland had four sons who went to Penn)>one of which was Thomas m. Eigness(Agnes) lived in Sadebury which is South East of Lancaster. I first pick him up on a sheriff's census in 1725. Thomas & Eigness had six children. Of these, John, the eldest m Sarah Reid & stayed in Sadbury, Anna m. Capt Wm. Crow, Margaret, Samuel m. Jean Reid(sister of Sarah) and went down into Va. brother Thomas went with him. Descendants still live at the family home in Poplar Hill,Va. It seems that John's descendants migrated west along the northern border of Ky., while Samuel and his progeny went along the southern border of Ky., . Some of these went into Missouri. Is there something I could help you with? Mike
