Cynthia, My side of the Shannon's from PA. are George & Mary with sons John Moore and William Brown Shannon. Did any of your relatives go to the middle part of Kansas. In my line there is a Shannon girl buried on the Marr Farm near Wells Kansas. I have tried to find out the connection but haven't been able to find anything. Can you help? Good people of the SHANNON List. Please help if you can. This is all I know about my g-g-grandmother. She was born in Virginia and married a LEE. She had at least one child, Emeline LEE born in Rush Co. 1829. Mrs. LEE sometime after 1829 married a Mr. SHANNON. If the list members would check their information for any LEE and SHANNON marriage, I would be very grateful. Becky in Kentucky

Hello All, I am finally back online, I had ordered a new computer system by phone on Wednesday or Thursday and my new system arrived by UPS on Saturday! Luckily the new system got here before the old one died and I could have lost all of my family tree maker files, so I am lucky. Now I need a favor please? Can someone please send me the genweb link for states/counties? And please send me thoose links for the Shannons who were in Tennessee. Now maybe I can continue to try finding my Mary Shannon's family. Thanks in advance for your help! Debra Crowell dcrowell@tvn.net
I have hit a brick wall in my search. I have traced my ancestry back to Samuel Shannon, Jr b. 2/17/1769 in PA (I wish I knew what County). He married Sarah Kennedy (Her father was Davenport Kennedy), on 8/8/1796 in Oglethorpe Co, Ga He left PA to settle in GA and had a key part in creating Franklin County, Ga. His name is on tons of court documents from Franklin County. His son, John Harvey Shannon was also affiliated with the court system, as his name is found on loads of court documents from Franklin County, Ga. In the Franklin County, GA 1850 census, he is found living with his son, Leonard Shannon, and stated that his birthplace was PA. PLEASE, if anyone can tie into this line, let me know, I have been searching for the past couple of years, and there are so many Samuel Shannons from Pa. I assume that Samuel Shannon, Sr was born prior to 1750 somewhere in PA. Someone has to know this line. Tamarra Barr

Looking for a Rose Gallagher from Co Donegal and married a Shanahan Shannon. Came to US about 1860-70. Don't know where they settled in US. Thanks, Sharon
Hi Debra I have been researching the Shannon's for sometime now and Andrew Shannon from Morgan and Anderson was my g-g-g grandfather. He had a daughter named Mary but she was married to James Russell in Anderson County in 1849. She was born in 1829. Also Andrew had a sister named Mary and she was born in 1791. I don't know who she was married to. Andrew had a brother, Charles who was married to Agnes Duncan. I grew up in Morgan County and I have heard of Craven Duncan but other than that I don't know anything about him. I have some records of Morgan County that I will look at and see if I can come up with some information for you. Good luck Jane
Marlene, Yes I am interested in anything having to do with George David Shannon (Born in 1758) and his descendants. I think there is a little mix-up about John Anderson Shannon. 1. It is not possible for John Anderson Shannon (Born 9 March 1788)to be the Son of (I believe but haven't for proof) George Shannon and Mauglra McCaughan since she died on the way to America in the 1860's and the his Father died on a trip back to Ireland in the 1860's. 2. My theory (I don't have proof but am in contact with someone from that side of the family) is that John Anderson Shannon is the Son of George David Shannon and Jane Milligan who Married in 1783. I will keep in touch with you if you like and try to get more information.
