    1. [SHANNON-L] Gorman's, Gillies and Pinkertons in Saginaw County, Michigan
    2. Hello All, I am searching for any information anyone can provide regarding and surviving cousins or otherwise for the DANIEL P. and MARY GILLIE GORMAN family, of Merrill and Saginaw, Michigan. Mary GORMAN'S parents were James GILLIE and Mary Jane SHANNON. James and Mary Jane emigrated to Merrill, Michigan around 1870-1880. Mary Gillie GORMAN was born about 1875. There were other Gillie cousin's but I have no information as of yet. James and Mary Gillie are buried in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Saginaw and I think Daniel Gorman is either there or in the Lakefield Cemetery in Merrill. Mary Gorman the organist for Sacred Heart back in 1905-1915 and she was quite a colorful lady. She used to live on the corner of Midland Road and M-46 in Merrill, in a large white house that was moved and eventually burned down to accommodate a larger parking lot for the W. L. Case & Sons Mortuary. She was well known for her cheery "YOO HOO" that she would shout to just about everyone in the township. She owned the first electric car in Merrill and it had no reverse. The driver just switched sides in the car. Sadly, Mary passed away in 1948 and she is buried beneath a simple headstone reading just "Mary Gorman 1948." What happened to the rest of her family? The 1910 Jonesfield Township census indicates the GORMAN house had a large family living there. It lists Ethel GILLIE 63 yrs & widowed, and a family named PINKERTON family, Sadie-19, Evelyn-17 and George-15. Does anyone in the Merrill area know anything about these folks. If they're related to my Shannon family search, I'd like them to know they're not forgotten and I would love to hear from them. Like I said, anything is more information than I have right now. Thanks, Kevin O'Brien Laguna Hills, CA
