    3. Anne, Could you explain about your Thomas Shannon and Elizabeth Taylor. I have a Thomas Shannon b. around 1720, I think because he had a patent to buy land from Wm Penn or William Penn's son, in 1740, so must have been a young man by 1740. We are desperately searching for our Thomas Shannon. He had 3 children that we know of, but probably more. We have; Samuel, Joseph and Mary. Joseph is in the 1790 York Co. PA census along with his sister Mary's husband, Henry Cowley. It is misspelled in the census as Coollly. Would you have any advice as to what or how to find them. Thanks, Bobbie >From: [email protected] >Reply-To: [email protected] >To: [email protected] >Subject: [SHANNON-L] Re: SHANNON-D Digest V99 #202 >Date: Mon, 20 Sep 1999 20:56:32 EDT > >In a message dated 9/20/99 4:28:03 AM Central Daylight Time, >[email protected] writes: > > > [email protected] >Bonnie, >If memory serves and I do well to remember yesterday, this sound like >something that came out of one of the DAR Volumes that you find in the >library. 3. I didn't want to highlight that, but I think that was awful. P.S. It's encouraging to know that people out there really read my posts. Some of this stuff really takes awhile (but I'm sure all of you know that). P.P.S. For those of you who don't know what this is about you have to read the Death Certificates I posted (and contact me if you know a connection). 1. [SHANNON-L] Ode to Yates
    2. Just a passing thought. Their once was a list called Yates that I thought would open some gates, To peruse this list you were to add your name so you could search for your family's fame. So with hope that I might find a kin of mine I did add with haste my e-mail place, and now I wait with the passing of time for my turn to view this Shannon line. Patiently I waited my place in line, thinking over and over with this thought in my mind, it would not take long as on this list I'm number twenty-nine. As the days turned to weeks and the months into a year, the burden of waiting and wondering had turned into fear. Visions of being skipped on this list came hammering down like quite a large fist. I was about to explode with genealogy rage And flame someone on the Shannon page. When out of the blue in a twist of fate there came this message loud and clear that changed my mind of mounting fear, you now have moved to number twenty-eight. So if you have added your name on the bottom of the list I suggest that you be patient and be very kind, because as the weeks and months go slipping by It might be your name we're trying to find. I said it was just a thought!
