Good Evening Jimmy, Some years way back there, I had to put my research aside because of my work. I sent all my letters from Louise Dedman to HJoyce to use in her Shannon Searchers. I feel that this really helped a lot of people in their research, and really feel good about it. The two books I referred to are Dexal Shannon's "Shannon (Circa 1700 to 1981)" and "Shannon (Circa 1571 to 1990)". Mike
Jimmy, As I already have both of Dexal's books, what would it cost for a copy of Louise Dedman's genealogy? Michael Shannon [email protected] Researching Shannon,Billingsly,Reid,Williams,Scott,Coleman,Collier,Lindsay,Clayton,Wortham ,&Grizzell

Hello Folks, do any of you have the Alabama marriages from FTW or anyplace. I am trying to find a marriage for Thomas Staton and Selia, or Cecelia-also one for Cecelia or Selia who married a Criswell, Crizzell or something like that--Cecelia had two children prior to marrying my grgrgrandpa Thomas, their names were Jenetta Jane Crizzell or Crisswell--and William-the census show that they were from Ala--I believe Cecelia was from NC as that is what is on all of the census--if you do not have the cd, do you know of a place on the web that has a list of folks who do--Thanks Helen

Jimmy Kerr: How does one order your book on Shannon's? George Shannon
Hi Cindy, I'm assuming that you were sending this to me. YES! My LOWE'S were from Grenville, Argentuil County, PQ. There are also indicators they lived in La Chute and Arundel, PQ. There's an unconfirmed Ottawa, Ontario, entry too. The U.S. entries include WISCONSIN, MICHIGAN, and MINNESOTA. The progenitor was Martin LOWE. His wife was named Ellen or Eleanor (Smith or Tracy). My great-great-grandmother was Maria Lowe. It appears that IN the earliest line of Lowe's there was a Hanna Lowe (Outram). I thought most of the births were actually in Ireland, but the entries say Canada. The unconfirmed birth order was: Rev. George Austin Lowe b: Canada Year: 1792 James Lowe b: Canada 1794 Alice Lowe (Belt) b: Canada 1796 Mary Lowe (McBinnon) b: Canada 1798 Martin Lowe (Jr?) b: Canada 1800 Betsy Lowe (Sugars) b: Canada 1802 Jane Lowe b: Canada 1805 Ralph Lowe b: Canada 1808 Catherine Lowe (McMahon) b: Canada 1810 Maria Lowe (Shannon) b: Canada 1814-15 (My lineage) Cindy, this is only tentative at this time, but I took it from records I recently located. They were compiled in the late 1800s by a woman seeking membership in the DAR. From what I have gleaned from other records in the collection, things are quite accurate. The records indicate my Lowe lineage left from "Stockton on Tees," Ireland or Scotland. I hope this helps. I am beating the bushes in Michigan trying to locate a family surnamed BELT and WEBER ( Bruce Weber). I'm still actively working to confirm the rest of the entries. Things are going rather slowly on them. If I can be of further assistance please let me know. I'll gladly exchange information with anyone who may be related to my lineage. Am anxious to hear from you and hear about your Shasteen connection. Thanks in advance, Brenda Timbrook [email protected]

Hello Shannon Searchers, Time to send out the basic book information again. I have made copies of Dexal Shannon's Book "Shannon 1570-1990" 200 pages plus 62 page index, including errata and copies of Louise Dedman's "Shannon Genealogy" on which the book is based. Single side copy. Cost is $35 post paid. By-the-by, if there is a Shannon Organization they could easily do this same thing maybe cheaper than I can. I, if so let me know. I have been planning on updating Dexal's Book but I am involved in a Lohmann-Jones book at the moment and it will be at least a year before I can get to this one. Jimmy Kerr 8227 N. Hi: I also would like to see the will. Thanks, Judy (in Ks)
Hi Widget, Nice to hear from you again. The Joseph Shannon data you mentioned is collected data put down to point others in a right direction, and is not necessarily proven. I think what you are referring to is the familytreemaker bulletin board. The article in regard to Joseph Shannon is information from John Peeling, Jr. His e-mail is [email protected] Also some others you might want to correspond with if you don't already: Gerald Busby [email protected] He is adding to L.A.Busby's work. L.A. was his grandfather.Tommie Taylor: [email protected] Sheila Shannon: [email protected] Joyce Bridges: [email protected] & Russsell Reid:[email protected] Mike I wasn't aware that you lived in Giles Co. Are you near Poplar Hill? Who has the old homes there now? My brother & I visited there some years ago, and met our distant cousins. Dear people . I maintained contact with them until Lewis King passed on, or I should say he maintained contact with us,so we are out of touch with that neck of the woods. MS
Jim, Hopefully this will make it through the net to you. It is my 4th attempt. Some other sites that should help you; http://google.com/ put full name in & hit I feel lucky, then run the chart. http://genforum.familytreemaker.com/shannon/messages/91.html http://home.earthlink.net/~tmclean/PickensDBndx/dat18.htm regarding the chart I have; It is diagramed, on paper, 17 pages. The chart has Anna m. James Marrs and had Wm. Blaine & Rachel. Jane m. Alexander Marrs b.1749 and had 8 children. In a letter he stated he had 3 in vir., 3 in Shelby Co.,Ky., and 2 in Ohio. If you want a copy, send me your mail address. Is the (ddennis) a part of your e-mail address? if so, it might explain the problem we've had contacting you. Sometimes this isn't, and merely indicates the receiver. I've tried sending you e-mail without it, will now add it & see what happens. Mike
George, Sorry about that, Jim Marr's e-mail is: [email protected] Mike
Hello George, Jim Marr wrote: Thank you for your message. I believe I have James & Ann's daughter Rachel. I'm attempting to trace an Alexander Marr(s), I'd estimate to have been born @1750's VA>Tn>? Sheila Lawson's site http://geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/5600/index.html had the wills of John & Alexander Marr previously "listed", however, had not posted them. She has since revised that page. I had sent her two or three requests for the Alexander Marr will over the past several months, however I hesitate to ask again. It may contain that piece of information I've been searching for. I replied that Rita' Ziebart's chart had the data he was looking for on page 8. Her search engine is: http://www.familytreemaker.com/user/z/i/e/Rita-J-Zieber/ODT1-0001.html I told him to go there and look at page 8 & let me know if it was what he needed. I tried to send this three times, with no success. Probably the same thing happened when Sheila Shannon tried to answer his request. Mike
Hi Mike, What was the Marrs enquiry? Our Shannons were in New Brunswick in the 19th century - Saint John. Regards George Ferguson
Good Morning All, I had a query from a Jim Marr in New Brunswick,Canada, yesterday. Try as I might, I couldn't get a reply back to him. It just wouldn't take the e-mail address. Wonder if anyone else has this problem? How do you overcome it? Mike Shannon
