Good Morning List, After weeks of no mail from this list I have received two SHAMROCK messages in the last 24 hours. A personal one from Tom and a response re list etiquette from Mark. I had begun to think that the Shamrock List was no longer in operation. I have tried sending a message to the list myself and that didn't appear back in my mail box and I had also recommended the list to someone a couple of weeks ago and when they tried to subscribe they didn't get a welcoming message and no subsequent mail. Now the fact that I received these two messages shows that I am still subscribed so can other listers tell me if they are getting regular messages please? Could you 'reply all ' please so that if something is blocking messages to me from the list then at least I should receive it via my own address. I have resisted contacting Maura direct as I believe she has been ill and wouldn't want to disturb her under the circumstances. This is a great list and I wouldn't want to lose it. Regards Sandra

The *BEST* way to get messages on the list (or any other list) is to post *real* messages. I'm pretty sure these "testing" type messages are forbidden on this list. No, I am not the list administrator here, but I do administer a couple other lists and I also find it frustrating that so few people are posting. But that's the way it goes; it's vacation/holiday time for many people and they're likely paying more attention to their living relatives than to their dead ones in the summer! Things are likely to start up again in the fall. In the meantime, instead of asking why no messages, why not start a thread yourself? Let us know where you're hitting brick walls or -- even better! -- how you blasted through them. What about new resources you've discovered? Hope this helps. -- --- Richard A. Yikes! I'm pretty sure the list admin is the *only* person who can start a roll call! This is not a particularly good idea without her permission. Many people on the list don't like/can't handle massive mail loads and need some kind of warning. Please! Let's wait until the list admin gives us permission to start the roll call! P.S.
