Well here is a post to the list ( don't want anyone bored). I am in fear of searching my Irish line and feel that I will not be able to find anything and need some advise, anything will help. County Cork, Ireland and my Sullivan's came in 1878 and have not found them anywhere prior to the 1900 census. I know their names and know where they lived in NH but that is it other than the death certificates and the parents name. Every Irishman knows a Mary Murphy and I have one too. One of the daughters became a nun and I found her in the convent, (I know this because they gave me her hair!). I must add that a very kind person went to the NH archives and obtained birth certificates for me with the maiden name of Crimmins. I have never forgotten that kind person, just cannot find his email address. That was 4 years ago. Someone told me I had to go to Ireland if I really wanted information that was correct. I would love to go but even then I would not know what to do. Any advise? I sure could use some. I have some papers with names from the sale of land 1947 and that was given to me, along with the hair. I really feel inept and could use some advise. Thank you to anyone who has any help to offer. Diana
Diana, I couldn't agree more. The little research I have done has led nowhere and I baulk at 'wasting my time' trying to get started. Wow! to have here hair! I would love to have something tangible of my Cornelius Sullivan - when the rains come and the creek starts flowing I have a bottle ready to fill with water from the creek that bisected his farming land in the Blue Mountain region of NSW Australia, that is as personal a memento I can hope for. Thank you for the inspiration to get make a move towards finding his Irish connections.
