Ten years ago I began a journey to Ireland ...terrified of what I had been taught and all the time excited to go ...........I wanted to find where my ancestors came from after all Thomas O'Donoghue was certaily a name to be proud of. My first trip I was so in awe of the place its wonders were too many to take in and I only touched base on one or two things on the search. Then I was lucky enough to return again *having an Irish hubby helped* at the time I wasnt too fussed about the research I just loved the place and its food and people BUT this time I fell hopelessly in love with a church and her graveyard and the area and so began a love affaire that today my husband says, pushes him out ........lol But to make you all feel better about undetaking your research for Irish ancestors............I made mistakes many before I began to get some of it right........every time I found a document there was another two missing ........but now many moons on and having seen the sun rise and set over Ireland many times I consider myself a very lucky women. But now back home in Australia I have undertaken the job to build a data base on all my researching be it not the county you girls are looking at........... Moral to this boring story is Get in give it a go nothing ventured nothing gained and on the way, you meet great friends, you even get cross with a few people, but its the learning and sharing that makes this experience worth while ..............my only pet hate today and will always remain so are codes in Mails like Diana's Diana you know where NH is I dont give me a clue and maybe with new data sources being released often ,now ,we may well break down some of your reservations and aid you in your search Lee you have two fine Irish sounding names Carr and Sullivan and I love the thought that you have a bottle to fill with water from the creek. but you never told us where your man came from. No research is wasted as the irish say *When God built the world he gave them time to spare* So lets give it a go lets shake the walls that keep us finding our ancestors dont let reservations and fear hold us back.
