James and Mary Fitzjarris Long immigrated from Ireland some time prior to 1854. On 11 November, 1854 they had a daughter, MARY LONG, born in Randolph, Cattaraugus County, New York. JOHN BUTLER was born 15 April, 1839 in County Clare, Ireland; John immigated to New York in 1860, and applied for citizenship in Buffalo, Erie County, New York in 1881. the said JOHN BUTLER and MARY LONG were married sometime in the 1860s when Mary was very young. They had at least two children in Buffalo, Kathryn born in 1880 and Josephine born in 1881.
