Dear Listers: After an eight year search, I have recently found my gr-great grandfather and his family living in New York City in the 1847 to 1853. I need help finding out where in Ireland they came from. Some of the info I have on them is as follows: John McGUIRE b. ca 1813 in Ireland, married to Jane (?) McGUIRE b ca 1818 in Ireland. children: John McGuire b ca 1847-49 in New York City d. 11/12/1871, Chgo. George McGuire b 1850 in New York City PAtrick McGuire b. ca 1831 in Ireland Patrick may have been a brother or cousin, and was a Harnessmaker. John the elder was a Saddler and later a Nail Maker. Younger John became a Machinist and Night Watchman in Chicago with Crane and Co. George became a Dry Goods Store owner in Chicago and later in Oak Park, IL. They may be realted to the McGuire's of Keeseville NY since Keeseville was referenced in the older John's obit. Can anyone help me find out where to search for them in Ireland?
