Patrick CASSIDY b. circa 1804 near Derrygonnelly, Co Fermanagh (parish of Devenish) m. Mary McCAFFREY circa 1832 in Ireland. Had children: Mary E. (1833) , Peter Joseph (1838) , Charles I. (1840), Patrick Francis ("Frank" ) (1841) born in Ireland. Emigrate to US about 1842, supposedly first to Emmitsburg MD., then on to WashDC. Had more children born in WashDC: Ann Virginia ("Jennie") (1845), Catherine (1848) died in infancy, Elizabeth Ann ("Lizzie")(1850), Mary Catherine (1852) died in infancy, Edward Francis ("Frank" (1854) Mary McCAFFREY's cousin Rev. Peter B. O Flanagan, S.J., was pastor of Holy Trinity RC parish in Georgetown, DC. Patrick CASSIDY was sexton of the church. I have traced the descendants of all the above except for Charles and Edward. Charles married Alicia MacDONALD, and served in the Union Army (as did Patrick Francis) during the Civil War and is buried in Soldiers Home cemetery in DC. They had 8 children. Edward Francis m. Mary MURRAY and had four chidren. I would love to hear from Charles' or Edwards' descendants. Janet C-S
