Listers: Ellen Naliboff's recent posting of URLs which take you to maps, atlases and directories of Irish placenames proved immediately and extremely helpful. The "seanruad" site was particularly useful to me. I had ancestors placed in the parish of Annageliffe in Co. Cavan, but the seanruad site brought up about 40 townlands ranging from 25 to more than 400 acres in size, and included a number of names for these townlands I could not locate via other sources. I'm planning a September trip to Cavan City, a few miles from these townlands, and this information alone will let me narrow my searching, visiting and poking about to acreage, rather than square miles. Excellent tool, Ellen, really excellent. Or, as they say in Cavan, "Brilliant, Ellen, brilliant!" Thank you on behalf of the whole list.
