My grandfather Patrick J. Beattie was born in Portadown, Co. Armagh. He was reared a Catholic but was probably from a mixed marriage. He joined the British Army and served in the Boer War and WW1. He came to Belfast and married my grandmother Catherine Matthews. I would appreciated hearing from anyone who knows anything about the family or name. Thank you in advance for any help.
