My family comes from the Westmeath/Offaly part of Ireland near Athlone, and I suspect Mary and parents also came from there - but I haven't been able to find any placename similar to the above - even searching all the counties >> Well, Jim, I'm not particularly happy with what I have (not) found, either......but here are some far-out possibilities. There is a townland and parish of Drumraney in Westmeath. In Cavan, there is a Drummoney townland. In Monaghan, a Drumanny. I think the best alternative might be Drumsna (don't know if the "a" is pronounced as a long vowel or not - i.e., "ay" as in hay), which is a town and townland in southern Leitrim. There are also a number of Drumany's in Leitrim. I haven't found much else. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts
