    3. Hi Everybody and especially William! My mother was born BARRETT (probably Kathryn) in 1901 in Chicago. Her sister and three brothers were put up for adoption c. 1904 because the father had apparently died working on the railroad and the mother had tuberculosis. She found her sister, Frances. She never found her three brothers. She was adopted by Timothy and Kathryn (Kate) SULLIVAN (nee' FLANAGAN) and raised in Logansport and Lafayette, IN, until her adoptive father died. Soon after that, my adoptive grandmother and her sister, Margaret (Maggie)FLANAGAN STEFFAN, moved to Los Angeles, where they started a boarding house in their home at 759 Irolo Street, near the old Ambassador Hotel. My father, W. Frank OLSEN was, fortunately, one of their borders and met my mother! His mother was Irish (Catherine McGreavy/McGreacy) and was married on May 6, 1884 to Rudolph OLSEN at St. Patrice in Montreal Does this ring any bells with anyone? I have always considered my mother's heritage to be a dead end, due to the adoption. Have any of you found BARRETTs who were put up for adoption in the early 1900's? Hopefully, Kay Olsen Pearsall in Campbell, CA
