Anyone connected to these lines? 1. John McGLINN (b.c. 1798) m. Anne FARRELL (b.c. 1800) unknown location Ireland. Unknown whether they married in Ireland or NY. Emigrated to NY c. 1833. Sons James , John , daughter Catherine (surname spelling changed to McGLYNN and/or McGLYNN). Lived New Utrecht section of Brooklyn 1840 to today (some on Staten Island too). John McGLYNN married Margaret BRANNAN or BRANNON, who died in 1874. Unknown where in Ireland she was from. John McCARTHY (CARTHY in Ireland) s/o John CARTHY and Mary HOGAN baptised in Clonmel Waterford, married Mary Ellen GOUGH in Brooklyn NY in 1886. Mary Ellen's parentage is unproven.... but a relation to John GOUGH of Clonmel is proven (uncle or father?, that's debatable right now). John and Mary Ellen McCARTHY moved to Fairfield/Bridgeport CT area where they had 9 children, including my grandfather John Thomas McCARTHY. Both my grandfather and his brother James served on the Bridgeport Fire Department for many years.
