The following information was posted on the Suffolk County, Mass. site MASUFFOL-L@rootsweb.com SECRETARY GALVIN PRESENTS GENEALOGY SERIES AT THE MASSACHUSETTS ARCHIVES Sec. of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin announced today that the lecture series, "A Journey Through Time," will be held at the Mass. State Archives building at Columbia Point on Thursday evenings March 1 through March 29 between 6:30 and 8 pm. The public lectures will be held in the Meeting Room and light refreshments will be served. Admission and parking are free and the Archives Building is handicapped accessible. The lecture schedule, topics and guest speakers are: March 1 - A Journey through Time, Looking at records that can help you find your family Ancestral Home, Janis P. Duffy, Reference Archivist, Mass. State Archives. March 8 - Boston Irish Heritage Trail, Michael Quinlin, President, Boston Irish Tourism Association. March 15 - Preserving Family Photographs and Papers, bring in family photo or papers, Jennifer Lyons, SPNEA Senior Archivist, National Park Service, and Rick Stattler, Manuscript Curator, Associate Library Director, Rhode Island Historical Society. March 22 - Deer Island, A look at the Irish Immigrants on Deer Island, John McColgan, Ph.D., Archivist, City of Boston.
