We are trying to find his origins in Ireland. 1 James Kane 1780 – 1848 b: 1780 in ? Ireland d: 1848 in Franklin Township, Adams Co., PA .. +Deborah Johnson ......... 2 William Kane 1822 – 1898 b: May 25, 1822 in Franklin Co., PA d: May 12, 1898 in Franklin Co., PA ............. +Harriet Noel 1828 – 1903 b: February 1828 in Buchanan Valley, Adams Co., PA d: May 17, 1903 in Franklin Co., PA .................... 3 George Albert Kane 1870 – 1947 b: October 21, 1870 in Pa. d: February 24, 1947 ........................ +Margaret Kimple 1870 – 1958 b: September 27, 1870 d: December 6, 1958 ......... 2 James Kane 1803 - b: 1803 ......... 2 Alexander G. Kane 1805 - b: 1805 ......... 2 Isaac Kane/Kean 1808 - b: 1808 ......... 2 Sally Kane 1812 - b: 1812 ......... 2 Jesse Kane/Kean Kane 1814 - b: 1814 I found 161 Kanes, 2 Kaines, 5 Kains, and 4 Cains from the County Antrim at ftp://ftp.genealogy.org/pub/genealogy/vendors/ajmorris/ansurn.txt One is a James Kane, but I have no idea if this is my friend's ancestor. Because of the number of Kanes noted in County Antrim, however, chances are good that he might have come from there. I just have no idea how to help her verify or discount that that is the case.
