Is this so? >> Darryl, This has bothered me for many months - to the point where I just asked the good members of the Irish Placenames list for assistance (after being reminded by your question). The Slieve/Sliabh Luachra "area" is, as you mention, the area along the border between the two counties, in the Rathmore - Gneevgullia area. What has always bothered me is the "sliabh"- part; because there aren't any mountains there. Farther south, we have the Paps and some others, but they're not know as Sliabh Luachra either.
