Well, I've covered just about every base now and before unsubbing, I'm going to put out one final plea for help! Thanks to so many of you out there, at least I have quite a few more details than when I began, and it's been an interesting and educational journey. My sincere thanks. What I'm looking for is a record of birth, or any records for that matter for: Catherine Annie Gargan (Gargon) Born 1869/70 Ireland (most likely) or Irish descent, with a father Thomas Gargan (born 1840's /deceased before 1892 - Thomas Gargan's occupation on her marriage certificate is listed as joiner). Catherine's marriage certificate to William Edmund Waters in 1892, shows them living at 18 Gannock Street, Edgehill Wavertree. Catherine died Nov 1, 1937 at 42 Belmont Rd., Liverpool (Hospital). Nothing on the 1881 census seems to fit. No record of her birth in Liverpool, so assume Ireland to be correct. Haven't found a Catherine with a father Thomas there either. She must be out there somewhere! Any new and unusual places to look? Does someone out there hold the magic key? Gargan is not all that common - you'd think I'd have found her by now! I have a number of addresses for Catherine (nee Gargan) and William Waters after 1892, which I can provide, but can't seem to find anything earlier. Thank you, Sharon
