Researching family of Dominick McGLINN who married Elizabeth DOHERTY 5 August 1860 at St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Church, Woodstock, NB. Witness: Bridget and Richard McGlynn. Elizabeth may be the daughter of Patrick Doherty (various spellings) and Mary O'Neal (O'Neil). Elizabeth born in Richmond, NB 1834. Sponsors at baptism: James Kelly and Jane Shannon. Other known children of Patrick and Mary were Michael and George. Dominick born <>1830 in Ireland (perhaps Cty. Sligo). Twin children, William Henry (baptized as James) and Bridget (baptized as Mary), of Dominick and Elizabeth McGlinn born 1861 and baptized at St. Gertrude's in Woodstock. Dominick McGlinn, Elizabeth and twins found in Littleton, Maine in 1870 US Census. Peter McGlinn residing in same area of Littleton also found on Census. Peter married Margaret Grimmison in Woodstock. Margaret died and Peter married Mary Ann Currier in Houlton. Peter born in Ireland, emigrated to Woodstock/Richmond, NB; then migrated to Littleton, Maine as did Dominick. James McGlinn married Elicia (aka Sarah) Kerigan at St. Gertrude's RC Church/Woodstock. Family resided in Richmond, NB. Children baptized at St. Gertrude's: Bridget, James, Richard and Sarah. 1851 Carleton Cty. Census for Richmond lists James' and Elicia's children as John, Bidy, James, Andrew, and Sarah. Are Dominick, Peter, and James related? James born <>1793; Peter, <>1818; and Dominick, <>1834. All born in Ireland. Children of Dominick and Elizabeth McGlinn: Wm Henry, Bridget, Mary Ann, Catherine Frances, Sarah Jane, Susan, Rose Ellen (Rosella), and Elizabeth (Lizzie). Dominick, Elizabeth and Sarah buried at St. Mary's RC Church Cemetery in Houlton, Maine. Catherine, Rose Ellen, Elizabeth and Susan buried in Catholic section of Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton. Mary Ann McGlinn Tait, died 1906, buried with husband, William John Tait, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor, Maine. Bridget married James Duffy as second wife. No issue. Mary Ann McGlinn Tait and William John Tait had Henry Harrison, William John, and Mary Ellen. Mary Ann was only child of Dominick and Elizabeth McGlinn with issue.
