I would like to comment on a problem I am having with Ancestry.com and want to know if others are having the same difficulty. On 4/19/2001 I signed up with the service for a 14 day free trial offer. At that time I was asked for my credit card data which I supplied. For the past three days I have been trying to cancel the trial membership, on the web I was informed that I would have to cancel using a 800 number which was very interesting as I could sign up on the web. During these past days, and numerous calls, I have listed to many, many extended minutes of boring music and, we are sorry for the delay please call back at a later time. Am I the only recipient of this procedure or have others experienced it and what did you do about it? Would love to hear your stories. Frank
Frank: It is the same procedure to cancel a paid membership. The only solution is to wait for a "real live person" when you are put on hold. After all, it is their nickle. <VBG> John ----- Original Message ----- From: "francis j o'neil" <fjoneil@home.com> To: <SHAMROCK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, April 30, 2001 2:33 PM Subject: [SH] ANCESTRY.COM > I would like to comment on a problem I am having with Ancestry.com and > want to know if others are having the same difficulty.
