There are a few website addresses that will be of interest to many of you. Dave, a FHC volunteer has done an incredible amount of research indexing many of the records found in the Family History Center. As you all know the National School records are a valuable source of information. Unfortunately there is no index of the schools. The schools are not listed by Townlands, so Dave in the past several years has been sorting through the films and making an index for the following counties: Antrim Armagh Derry Down Fermanagh Tyrone The school records will show the following: child, parents fathers occupation, if known http://fscfhc.homestead.com/files/EASTERN/IRELAREF.HTML scroll down to schools and click on link For those of you finding ship names and dates on the Ellis Island site you can go to the following website and see the film # for your relative's ship. It also lists the various ports of entry in the U.S.; actual passenger lists; indexes etc... It is EXCELLENT! http://fscfhc.homestead.com/files/SCFHCINV.HTML Scroll down to Emigration/Immigration and click on the link You can also access so much more at the homepage. URL: http://fscfhc.homestead.com/files/INDEX.HTML I wish to thank Dave for all the thousands of hours he has spent to make finding records at the FHC (Family History Center) so much easier for us. Go raibh maith agat Dave. Slan go foill, Margaret (Mairead)
