Family lore relates Jane DARBY, widow, with her 3 children, ages 10, 8 and 6, immigrated to the US in 1851 from County Cork. After searching in Cork for a long time, did a distribution of the surname in Griffith Valuation, although done after 1851, showed no DARBY's in Cork. DARBYs were mostly in counties to the north. LDS films for the Tithe Applotment are by town/townland so am unable to use this source. Can anyone suggest a way to find out where Jane and family really came from? Chris Darby cmdarby@earthlink.net
