All these families were from Co Fermanagh, all from near Derrygonnelly. Patrick CASSIDY b 1804 near Derrygonnelly, Co Fermanagh m Mary McCAFFREY about 1832 in Ireland. Mary McCAFFREY (probably from townland of Lisdoodan) had cousins named O FLANAGAN from the townland of Aughakeeriny. Peter O FLANAGAN became a Jesuit and the pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Georgetown DC, US. Patrick & Mary emigrated about 1842 (Patrick came first) and Patrick was sexton of Peter's church. CASSIDYs were also cousins to the LOVES who were first in Drumgormly townland and then (and now) in Derryvary near Monea. Would like to connect with Patrick's children's descendants, and with any descendants of his siblings. The names Francis, Peter, Edward, and James are popular. There is a possible link to a James Cassidy who was a schoolteacher in the Aughakeerin area in 1826. Mary McCAFFREY's mother may have been a STINSON.
