My FINN family settled in Brooklyn during the 1850s and 1860s - and there remianed. Possibly from north Co Cork. John Finn married Mary ROCHE in St. Patrick's on Wiloughby Av, Brooklyn. My WOODS family were from Newry, CO Down. Patrick, Michael and Lawrence settled in the Williamsburgh section of Brooklyn about 1850. Seeking contact with Newry researchers esapecially. My Ellen MACKEN was from Castlenugent in Granard parish, Co Longford. Mother was Mary CLYNE. Ellen arrived in Brooklyn about 1848. Settled with husband, Micheal Dougherty [various spellings] in St Patrick's in Brooklyn. My MAHONs were from east Galway - in and around Athenry - New Inn - loughrea - Ballinasloe.
