    1. [SH] MEHIGAN from Kilcoran (Tipperary) to Castletownroche (Cork)
    2. Robert Meehan
    3. >From information provided by Ted Meehan, after the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, a number of Mehigans went to France. Later returning to Ireland, some settled in a farm called Kilcoran in the Tubrid parish of County Tipperary. In 1766 two in particular were Charlotte Therese Boitel Mehigan, widow of Guilaume (William) Mehigan and their infant son Jean Joseph (John Joseph). >From information provided me by the Mallow Heritage Center the following Mehigans were married, baptized, or were a witness in the Roman Catholic Church in Castletownroche in County Cork, less than twenty miles from Kilcoran. John Joseph (my grandfather) – born 1867 – baptism sponsor William Mihigan Garret (my g-grandfather) – born 1837 Daniel (my gg-grandfather) – married Judith Murphy 1837 Robert – witness to marriage of William Joyce and Margaret Scully – 1823 I am seeking links between the Mehigans of Kilcoran and Castletownroche, especially given the name of my grandfather and his baptism sponsor. I am particularly looking for the ancestors of 1867 baptism sponsor William Mihigan and 1823 wedding witness Robert Mehigan, as well as the parents of Daniel Mehigan. Many thanks for your assistance. I would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions you have to offer. Bob Meehan Dunwoody, Georgia USA
