I am researching my 5th g-grandfather Patrick O'Brien. He was in Virginia in 1744 as he was granted land that year in Goochland Co, Virginia. With him was his brother Matthias and a Mary who I believe to be his sister as she married a Chastain around 1765 and moved to Pickens Co, SC. There may be a connection to the O'Briens in Maryland but my family believe they came directly from Ireland. Would like to share what information I have.
