RICHARD SYRON, 93, of the John Clarke Nursing Center, and formerly of Watertown, Massachusetts, a native of Ireland, died Wednesday at home. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth T. (McGuire) Syron. Born in Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland, on Jan. 19, 1909, a son of the late Michael M. and Sarah (McHale) Syron, he was raised and educated in Ireland. After coming to the United States in 1929, he had lived in Watertown for almost 70 years before moving to Middletown (RI). Mr. Syron was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Tomas Cardinal O'Piaich Division 14, Watertown, and the Holy Name Society. He leaves a son, Richard F. Syron of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts; a daughter, MaryEllen Bronson of Portsmouth, RI; a sister, Helen McDonnell of Dublin, Ireland; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Paddy, John, Mick, May, Sarah, Ellen, Bridget and Emily Syron and Kitty Walsh. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. (Route 20), Watertown, with a funeral Mass at 9 in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown.
