FYI -- New England Historic Genealogical Society offers *temporary* free access to one of its databases. This may be worth checking out if things get boring over the US Thanksgiving Day weekend. However, if your ancestors did not come over on the Mayflower you're likely to find nothing here. Sigh. Please note: This is *everything* I know about this service. Also, after you take the survey, be sure to check what kind of cookies and possible spyware the site may have set! -------- Free Non-Member Access to the Register Online Over Thanksgiving Weekend! NEHGS is pleased to offer free access to its New England Historical and Genealogical Register database on NewEnglandAncestors.org over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! Normally only available to NEHGS members, the Register database will be accessible to all from Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, November 28, 2004. We encourage all NEHGS members to spread the word about this offering, and we hope that those of you who are not members find a veritable feast of ancestors in the Register database! Published quarterly since 1847, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register is the flagship journal of American genealogy and the oldest journal in the field. The online database includes issues from 1847 to 1994. The Register has featured articles on a wide variety of topics since its inception, including vital records, church records, tax records, land and probate records, cemetery transcriptions, obituaries, and historical essays. Authoritative compiled genealogies have been the centerpiece of the Register for more than 150 years. Thousands of New England families have been treated in the pages of the journal and many more are referenced in incidental ways throughout. The articles in the Register range from short pieces correcting errors in print or solving unusual problems to larger treatments that reveal family origins or present multiple generations of a family. To obtain free access to the Register, we only ask that you complete a short survey to help us better define future free offers. All information given in the survey is kept strictly confidential within NEHGS. After completing the survey, you will automatically be taken to the Register database. Search for your ancestors in the Register at http://surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=46883732209 <http://rd.bcentral.com/?ID=2322816&s=46351870>! -- --- Richard A. You will find them by going to the URL below my name. On my homepage, at the top, under Ireland, click on County Tipperary. Yesterday, I updated the Irish books section of my website by adding more books in the following categories: Parish History books, Local History books, Genealogy books and Irish History books. Also, I have added some Volunteer Lookups to books already listed thanks to the many who write me to offer the volunteer lookups. This is an interactive website where you can submit books that are not listed and on a monthly basis, I update the site with the new submissions. You can access this webpages by going to the URL below my name. On my homepage, at the top, under Ireland, click on Ireland Books. This will take you to the Ireland Books Discussion Mailing List website, at the bottom of the page, you will find links to the Parish History Books By Counties and to the Ireland Book List, these are two separate sections of the website. If you have any questions and/or comments about the site, please contact me off list. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton

I have transcribed the GV for the civil parishes of Solloghod-beg and Solloghod-more, County Tipperary, from 1851. Between the two there are about 600 names. Both parishes are located close to Tipperary Town in the South Riding. You can see them by going to the URL below my name. At my homepage, at the top under Ireland, click on County Tipperary. The links are located under 'Land Records'. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton
Last month I opened a County Kilkenny section to my website which included a surname registry. Well, within a few weeks, over 40 surnames have been submitted and I have updated the registry with them. If you submitted a name, please check your submission for accuracy and if there are mistakes, please re-submit a form an put 'change' in the area that needs to be corrected. Also, over time if your information changes or if your email address changes, this is also the method for updating your submission. FYI, I update the surname registries on my website on a monthly basis and don't usually notify the lists when I do so, but since this is a new registry, and may have new submitters who are not use to my website, I thought I'd post this one-time reminder. You can access the registry by going to the URL below my name. On my homepage, at the top, under Ireland, click on County Kilkenny. You will find a link to the surname registry on the Kilkenny webpage. If you have any problems and/or comments about the site, please write me off list. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton
