For anybody who may have Irish connections to Arizona, I have transcribed over 400 grave markers with more than 600 names of Irish individuals or names or names which appeared to possibly be Irish. The burials are from 1960 to present, and are all located located in the Phoenix metripolitan area. The cemeteries are Sunland Cemetery of Sun City AZ, Holy Cross RC Cemetery in Avondale AZ and St. Francis RC Cemetery, Phoenix AZ. I have completed my rounds of the first two, there are still lots more in St. Francis. Just put the suspected surnames in the search engine and see what comes up. Link is below my signature. Best wishes, Tony Riordan triordan@msn.com ______________________________________________________________ THE RIORDAN FAMILY GENEALOGY PAGE: http://www.geocities.com/triordan.geo/gene1.html

Hi Listers, Does anyone know a good resource for tracking the changing names of Dublin streets over the years? In particular, I would like to know the current name for Rathmines Terrace, which existed at least up to 1900. Thx in advance for any help anyone can offer. Roy
Hugh MOLLOY was born in Newtown, Kings County in the early 1830s. He was married in Killerna Ireland in 1857 (Source a daughter's birth certificate. Hugh himself registered the birth.) Hugh's occupation in New Zealand was farmer and sheep shearer. his father, James was also a farmer. His wife, Margaret HAVEN born possibly 1838 at Rahan or Rayhan Queens County. Her death certificate gives the place of marriage as Rayhan, Queens County. An unconfirmed source has a son born in Curragh of Kildare and some family history has the family coming from Kildare also. I have tried Expedia Maps and Place Names of Ireland which listed NINE Newtowns in Offaly nothing for Killerna and five suggestions for Rahan. This catholic family arrived in New Zealand 1 January 1864. How do I discover where my family came from? Heather Armstrong
Would anyone have background information on the Barony of Idrone and Baron Lord Arlington. Family myth has it that these land holders may have had land where my "Bradner" great grand parents farmed in the 1800's Bernie Bradner Canada

I am trying to find passenger list for 1849-50 that arrived in Canada. My family came from Ireland, settled in Paris, Ontario for several years before coming to Michigan. Have been trying to find which ship they sailed on, and if there would be records for part of the family that died at sea. Thanks for any help that you may have. JoAnn
These searches allow you to locate any townland, parish or village in each of Ireland's thirty-two counties. http://www.irishplacenames.com/ http://www.seanruad.com/ Mapquest.com can get to the parish but not the townland. http://wwwrd.0mm.com/map019002 Global Gazetteer is a directory of 2880532 of the world's cities and towns, sorted by country and linked to a map for each town. A tab separated list is available for each country. http://www.calle.com/world/index.html Then, consult Lewis' Topographical Dictionary for a narrative description of the parish at the time of Griffith's Valuation. Have just found out that family members lived in Kansas City Missouri, Platte Co in 1939 and possibly earlier This would be the surname MURPHY ..either a JAMES MURPHY and wife sometime after 1889 and for sure a JOHN MURPHY and wife....in Feb of 1939 This MURPHY family would be kin to the O'KANE / KEANE / KANE surname of Mylerstown, Co Kildare and at one time lived in Rochester, Pennsylvanina, Beaver Co in the 1880's.... The JOHN MURPHY family in 1939 was mentioned in the obit of Mrs Murphys aunt...Sister Bridget Kane who was a nun in the convent of the Society of the Sacred Heart in St Joseph Mo. Mr and Mrs John Murphy attended her funeral in 1939 and possibly the funeral of Mrs Murphys other aunt MaADAM CATHERINE KANE of the same order at St Joseph Mo in May of 1929 when she died... Both Sister Bridget and Catherine Kane were sisters of my G-G-grandfather PATRICK O'KEANE/KEANE who was a tailor in Rochester Pa Beaver Co back in the 1870-1880's. Evidently one of the unknown KANE sisters of Patrick married a Murphy either in Ireland or in the US ...hopefully when the Sisters of The Society of the Sacred Heart in St Joseph Mo get all the information togeather on these 2 Kane sisters and get it to me the names of all the 9 siblings will be mentioned ... Known KANE siblings are Patrick, Bridget, Catherine [both nuns] Elizabeth who married a Michael John O'CONNOR [tailor br 1858 Co Cork, Ire] ] in 1883 Ire came to this country in 1884 a few days befor Patrick's untimely death to go into business with him in his Tailor business and a bro Michale..there were 9 children in the KANE/KEANE family I do not know the other names yet. All br in Ireland. There was a MRS MURPHY of Rochester Pa who in 1885 took Patricks youngest child Margaret out of the Orphanage in Pittsburgh Pa and returned her in 1889 no first name of Mrs Murphy was listed. At Patrick O'Keane/Kane funeral inSept 1884 Rochester PA. there was as a pall bearer a JAMES MURPHY named... I think that in 1889 the Murphys left Rochester Pa and went to Kansas City Mo or St Louis Mo 1st even Ashland Ky befor coming to Kansas City Mo. The O'Connors left Rochester Pa in 1889 and went to Ashland Ky and then to Huntington WV. There was in Sister Bridget's obit [1939] mention of 3 nieces ...Mrs John Murphy of Kansas Mo., Mayme Burkhart of Huntington WV [elizabeth O'Connor nee Kane oldest daughter] and Margaret Walsh of Sheffield England.... Would anyone know of my MURPHY family in Kansas City Mo.? Or my Margaret Walsh in Sheffield England? I cked Co Kildare re surnames and both Murphy and Walsh are known names there...so maby there were 2 other unknown Kane sisters that married in Ireland and left the country... Thank you SLC
I need someone from Ireland to advise me about the Irish law re: confidentiality on wills, etc. I received a copy of the will of my husband's grandmother that died in 1914 as well as a memorandum regarding a marriage trust established in 1850. Both documents were done by a firm in Dublin(still in phonebook), although the family was from Londonderry. If I wrote to the law firm, would they be allowed to give me any information? Dear Listers: John Morrow was born near Darlington, Wisconsin 4/19/1865. His father, John (mother unknown) emigrated to Canada from County Cavan with his father (James) and siblings. Prior to 1891 he moved to Raton, New Mexico. He married Virginia F. Dale of Raton in 1891. He became an attorney; served in House of Representatives of New Mexico; as city attorney of Raton; as President of Board of Education of Raton. He was elected to the US Congress in 1923 and served until 1929. I would like to be in touch with anyone who may be familiar with John and Virginia Morrow. I am especially interested in the ancestry of John. I'd also like to know if he had children and if so, names and progeny. Your assistance would be most appreciated. Joanne from West Seneca, NY
