    2. Pat Wood
    3. Hi, Would very much appreciate suggestions for resources about Irish migration prior to 1900 from New Zealand and Australia to the west coast of the US and Canada. What were the driving factors? US ports of entry ... major ....minor? Canadian ports? Would be happy to summarize all responses and feed back to this list. Thanks very much. Pat Wood

    1. [SH] Tralispeen,Co Cork
    2. Is anyone on the list familiar with this place in CO Cork, located off the road between Skibbereen and Baltimore? The Road you turn off on to is just before the entrance to the town of Baltimore. I would be interested in any information about this little "hamlet" Families, history anything at all you can tell me. There is a spot there that I have been told still referred to as "Daly's Rock" in navigation maps for ships. My Great-grandmother insists (or so I'm told) that she grew up there. I can't find any evidence that this is true, the Daly's that did live there were RC and my Daly's were COI (before the Great Hunger) I don't think they were "soupers".Her mother and father were from townlands closer to Schull and Goleen, were married in Skibbereen then at some point when Mary Ann was abt 10 yrs old left Ireland to the USA and returned to Ireland after a couple of years and had more children. Their births are registered in Goleen. The mystery time frame is from 1855 to 1870 when the only other children I know of from these parents were born.(1870& 1871) An Irish family with a daughter born in 1856 and no other children until 1870??How unlikely is that?I'll be there next week, we're leaving tomorrow, so hurry those answers along. I'll wait untill tonight to unsubscribe for awhile. Regards, Nancy Kie

    3. Hello, I am looking for information on Alice McGeary who married Jean Baptiste Sicotte on November 19, 1866 at St-Edouard Napierville Canada. Her parents are listed as Hammery McGerry and Mary McDonald. Alice's obituary says that she came to the United states as a small girl and she was born in 1845. I don't have much information to go on. The family came from Armagh Ireland. The obituary says the family located in Massachusetts for a period of time before making there way to Michigans Upper Peninsula. I have also seen Alice's name as Elise, and her fathers name as Hennry. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Alice had 11 children. I know 6 of them: Mary, Zeno, Henry, Isaiah, Cordelia and Joseph. Thank you for any help Chris Pepin

    2. I am researching the following surnames in Ireland in the time span of 1795-1850s. Henry PEEL/PEAL b. abt. 1797 married to: Margaret BOWES b. abt. 1795 They had the following children: Henry Richard b. abt. 1828 William b. abt. 1831 William married Susan PARR. They were married before 1859 in Newburgh NY. Susan's parents were William PARR and Mary Ann PRATT. William emigrated to Newburgh NY around 1854. Don't know when his brothers and parents came over but they are there by 1860. Henry and William were iron moulders and Richard was a blacksmith. Somewhere in the middle of this was my gggrandmother, Margaret J. PEEL. She was born abt. 1840-42 in Ireland. Don't really know who here parents were. Definitely not William or Richard. Possible Henry Jr. She could also be a late in life child of Henry Sr. and Margaret PEEL. She is in Newburgh by Dec. 1857 which is when she married a James BROWN, also an Irish native. I don't know where in Ireland these surnames would come from. All where Church of Ireland or in US Episcopalian. Anyone that has any information, please email. Thanks. Robin Co. Michael and Ellen Flynn had two children, Michael and Bridget. In the 1911 Census, Daniel had died and Bridget was now a widow. Michael was 40 years old and the heald of the household, Ellen 38. Their children were Michael, 13, Bridget 11, John 9, Catherine 3, Mary 2, Helena 1. Several of Daniel and Bridget's children (John born 1864, Kathleen born 1877, Daniel born 1880 and Bridget) migrated to Brisbane, Australia between 1891 and 1901.
