(b 1839) who married Francis GALLAGHER in Ireland and emigrated in 1860. I'd like to connect with anyone researching GALLAGHER from Co Fermanagh or descendants of William KEMP in Wash DC. Janet C-S

This is one of my brick walls. We have found records for the marriage of Benjamin CURRAN to Sarah KENNISON daughter of Jacob KENNISON and Mary BERRY in 1827 at the St. Paul d'Abbotsford Anglican Church in Granby, Quebec, Canada. Benjamin was supposedly born about 1808 in Ireland. Have no record of birth, death, parents or siblings. Benjamin was my gggrandfather. I would appreciate any information. Thank you, Elaine McCullough Mershon elaine@cyberhouse.org
Mary McCAFFREY was born about 1816 near Derrygonnelly, Co Fermanagh (Devenish parish). Townlands where some McCaffreys lived include Dresternan and Lisdead. I think the latter is likely for Mary's family, though the odds are good that the Dresternan McCaffreys were related to her as well. McCAFFREYs were cousins to FLANAGANs (Andrew, John) who lived in Aghakeerin townland, up on the mountain near the border of Boho and Devenish parishes. Lisdead is close by. Mary married Patrick CASSIDY (who was probably from Drumgormly townland, which borders Lisdead) about 1832. They emigrated to the US, settling in WashDC, where Mary's cousin, Rev Peter B. O Flanagan, S.J. was pastor of the parish in Georgetown, DC. Mary & Patrick's children were Mary, Peter, Charles, Patrick Francis, Ann Virginia, Elizabeth, Catherine, and Edward Francis. It is known that Mary had several women relatives in DC, including a Catherine McCaffrey (b Mar 1848) who married a William KEMP (born in NB, Canada) and Elizabeth ____? (b 1839) who married Francis Gallagher in Ireland and emigrated in 1860. These women may have been cousins or nieces. I'd like to connect with others researching McCAFFREYs from this area of Co Fermanagh or in WashDC. Janet C-S
K. Gaffy, I would like to take you up on your offer to do a lookup for any Phelan or Whalen (or various spellings of the same). Appreciate anything you can find. Carol Phelan
PATRICK and BRIDGET DARCY(nee KELLEGHER) married circa 1810/20 Ireland. their sons, FELIX DARCY born circa 1835, Parish of KINAWLEY Co CAVAN,----and HUGH DARCY born circa 1844 ---(where)---and their "lines" have both been traced.,from death certs etc in Scotland and New York respectively, though none of these documents show a townland name.--- I am sure there must have been more children of this marriage--but have unable to trace them. I recently came across an index showing a Felix,b1868, and 2 Hughs, born 1869 and 1871 in "Co Cavan" again no townland stated. I know this a generation on, but, with Irish naming patterns may be sons of the siblings. None of those above can be found in LDS search on line.--though others of this name appear as living in SWANLINBAR Co Cavan. Does anyone "out there" hear any bells ringing? or, is there anyone with local knowledge of the area who can help? The family belonged to the Roman Catholic Church. Would really love to hear from anyone else with ties to or knowledge of this family and its origins. Hopefully, nancy@arobb22.fsnet.co.uk
