Hi Fellow Shamrockers Hope I can scare up some Teevan relatives. My Teevan's: James age 35, Elizabeth (nee McKeon) age 30 with their children :Patrick age 10; James circ 8 and Elizabeth circa 6 emigrated to New York in May of 1870. By the 1880 census they were settled in Dunmore, Pennsylvania where they remained. As a child, I was told they came from Cork, but now I have been told that they actually were from Butlersbridge Co Cavan. I think they might have "sailed" out of Cork. Their death certificates just mentions Ireland, no county. James is the son of Patrick Teevan and Margaret McGena Elizabeth is the daughter of Constantine McKeon and Elizabeth McManus I'm surmising that the Teevan's were from Butlersbridge and the McKeon's were from Fermanagh, since I found an IGI record for the birth of an Elizabeth Teevan in August 1865 in Belleek, Fermanagh. I know for sure that James & Elizabeth's daughter Elizabeth was born in August 1865. I believe that when James married Elizabeth, it was in her Parish in Fermanagh and they just remained there until they emigrated. Hope someone can make a connection. Verna

Hello; Patrick Murray m. 1841 Mary Chapman, in Fermoy, Co. Cork. Mary was possibly the daughter of Thomas and Mary Chapman of Fermoy. In 1846, Patrick Murray is listed in I. Slater's Directory of Ireland as running the Public House in Clondulane, which is still operating in the same location. An 1881 family letter that makes reference to Murrays in Virginia lead to the discovery, after a search of Virginia Census Records for the years 1860, 1870 and 1880, that Patrick and Mary moved to Virginia, where Patrick is listed as a laborer, estate value, $20.00. In the 1860 US Federal Census, Clarke County, Virginia, PO White Post, 18 July, 1860, page 671, entry # 518. Living with them is their nephew Patrick Murray, bpt. 1844, son of James Murray and Margaret O'Brien who remained in Clondulane, near Fermoy, co. Cork. In the 1870 US Federal Census, Warren County, Virginia, 2nd Township, PO Front Royal, 16 August, 1870, page 437, entry # 156, Patrick and Mary are not listed, however, their 2 children John and George are residing with their nephew Patrick Murray, RR Manager (possibly Manassas Railway), who had just married that year, Catherine Falvey, daughter of Timothy and Shene Falvey. Patrick and Catherine do not appear to have left issue. Patrick MURRAY and Mary CHAPMAN had the following issue: William MURRAY bpt 1844 Fermoy Mary MURRAY bpt. 1847 Fermoy Johanna MURRAY bpt. 1849 Fermoy John MURRAY bpt. 1853 Virginia Michael MURRAY bpt. 1856 Virginia George MURRAY bpt. 1860 Virginia Mary may have survived her husband and moved to Iowa to live with another branch of our Murrays in New Albin and Dubuque. http://www.murrayfamily.org http://www.totalnetnh.net/~dmurray Thanks, David N. First family: Charles MAHER and Mary GARRY married in 1867 in the Parish of Kildare and Rathangan, County Kildare. Charles was from Ballyloughan, Bagenalstown, County Carlow. Mary was from Kildare. Charles and Mary had 3 children. Elizabeth, born 1868. Charles mother was named Elizabeth. The townland is South Green. John was born 1870. Could this be the name of Mary's father? Edward was born 1871. Edward was the name of Charles' father. The family history says the children emigrated to the US and became store keepers. The parents would have died prior to 1919, as that is when the history was written, near as I can tell. They may be buried in Kildare somewhere. All the children were born in South Green. Mary may have some relatives named Brigid GARRY and Kate GARRY and another GARRY with a name that starts with an M or an H. I could not make it out. This person was probably female. Second family: William DORAN and Mary GALLAGHER married probably County Carlow January 1840 or before. 3 known children: Mary Ann born 1840 RC Parish of Myshall, Co Carlow and emigrated to US, joined Sacred Heart of Jesus and became a nun. Died 1935 Chicago, Illinois. Sarah born 1843 RC Parish of Myshall, Co Carlow and possibly emigrated to Canada, living in Trenton, Ontario, Canada and marrying a HOULIHAN somewhere along the way. Elizabeth born 1849 RC Parish of Myshall, Co Carlow. Fate unknown. In 1856, William, Mary and the children were living in Waterford. I don't know when they died, where they are buried, etc. Debbie
