My first known ancestor is: Solomon Shaffer born ca 1832 in PA. He married Julia Boyer, born ca 1839. Their son Benjamin Franklin Shaffer was born 24 Mar 1854 in PA, died 12 Nov 1913 in Hurley, Vaughn, Iron Co., WS. He married Mary Jane Burroughs ca 1884. Mary was born 11 Mar 1858 in PA and died 10 Jun 1936 in Hurley. They had the following children: Nora "Nettie" Shaffer born Dec. 1871 in Pa, married John Colenso Roy Grover Shaffer (my line) born Jun 1883 in PA Hurley F. Shaffer born Apr 1888 in WS, died 1924 Benjamin Shaffer died young at 17 Jul 1889 in Detroit, MI Roy Grover Shaffer born Jun 1883, died 10 Apr 1938 in Detroit, MI. Married Margaret Exworthy, born 20 Sep 1881 in MI, died 1 Aug 1961 in San Diego, CA. These are my grandparents. They had the following children: Son - died as an infant Roy Herbert Shaffer - my father, born 26 Dec 1918 in Detroit, died 26 Jun 1995 in Vista, San Diego Co., CA If anyone can provide any additional information I would be very grateful.
