Mark, My name is Sue Schaeffer, and I'm grasping at straws, along with many other Schaeffer relatives who have been trying to find the parents of John Schaeffer, b.1769 in Pa. m. to Christina Ream from Lancaster, Pa. and moved to Ohio ca.1806. Their children were John Jr., who remained in Oh., Henry, Phillip, Daniel, George John, Catherine, and Margaret and another. ( Don't have my info close) Phillip, my line, married Highly (Hoover)Carver there in Mont.Co., and had kids before moving to Cass Co., Il. All came to Ill. except John Jr. There are census records of them living in Mont. Co. at the same time that Peter and Catherine Schaeffer,(possible parents) were living in Germantown. So even though they had a son John, he's not the one! Just thought I'd check with other Shaffer spellings to see if maybe they changed it along the way. Does any of this sound familiar to you? If so please e-mail me at [email protected] Thanks a lot for you time. I'm new at this, but these newly found relatives have been searching for a long time and are all over the country. The REAMS are easy, but didn't shed any light on John Schaeffer! Hope we connect...... Thanks, Sue
