Johannes Schaffer b. 6 Nov 1773, Lebanon or Northumberland Co d. 22 Feb 1840 Magdalena Schaffer b 5 Apr 1778 _____________________________________________________________________ Name: Michael SCHAFFER Given Name: Michael Surname: Schaffer Sex: M Birth: Abt. 1740 in Baydon (Germany) The earliest record of Michael and Appolonia Schaffer is the in Schaeffers town, Pa., Lutheran Church Book for the baptism of their son, Andrew on July 27, 1771. Andrew and Catharine (Henning?) Schaffer were sponsors at the bapt ism. Andrew and Catharine Schaffer were also found in the Milbach Church records. Possibly Andrew was a brother to Michael. Michael Schaffer (no wife) appeared at the Himmel Church Holy Supper with a daughter, Catherine on April 20, 1777 . On April 5, 1778 Michael Schaffer and wife Appolonia had a child, Mary Magdelina, baptized at Zion's (Stone Valley ) Church in Lower Mahoney Twp. On June 10, 1780, Hanna Schaffer daughter of Michael Schaffer and wife, Abolo nia was confirmed at Himmel Lutheran Church. On Aug 17th 1881, Michael Schaffer (no wife) attended the Holy Supper with daughters, Hannah and Margar et . Daughter, Catherine could have married by that time. On October 13th 178 2 , Michael Schaffer (no wife) reported to Holy supper with daughter Hannah. Henry Minijan reported to Holy Supper for the first time with wife, Catherine . Acc ording to the affidavit of Michael's, son Andrew, Michael Schaffer served in the Revolutionary war with John Geroge Peiffer under Captain Reed.
