    1. Re: Greeley, CO Shaffer's Found CO for one of mine
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Shaffer, Shaefer, Todd, Sherman, Foster, Garver, Miller, Sullivan, Lehman, Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/3hGBAEB/736.1 Message Board Post: Bill, Until recently didn't have a clue to my Shaffer G-Uncles of my Grandmother from Ohio. She died in 1934 so I never knew her or them. From the obit of my Grandmother, it was stated one of her brothers was then in CO and another NM. I get confused without my notes so won't mentioned which at the moment. Edgar was the name of one of those brothers and I am not sure of the year of his birth but in 1880's I would guess like my Grandmother. I recently learned the other G-Uncle may have had a different first name than I had known over the years and seems like I may have made a connection. Seems he married, they adopted a child, Anna, and then I think had another child and were divorced. I do have short term memory loss and do get some details wrong without looking right at my notes online. I haven't learned to do both at one time without getting knocked offline. I know Mom told me of being related to Schneider, Snyder too, but she only said it and I knew 2 spellings of the name in Ohio and wasn't sure which she had meant. This has been a long search and finally to get some result. According to the obituary, Grandma had a sister Hattie too and she was a Mrs. Todd at the funeral, but no first name of her husband was given. My G-Aunt was found to be living with her Father at one time under the name Todd. Also in the death records of my Grandmother were stated the names of her parents, of which I already knew the G-Grandmother, but didn't know what Shaffer at the time and now the name B. H. Shaffer, etc aka's as it is even spelled differently on the back of a picture I have of them that may have been at the time of my Grandmother's funeral 1934. If I remember correctly they died soon after my Grandmother. I am told by another I am trying to connect proof, my Colorado Shaffer's did not return from that state. I know very little about my Shaffer line, but did hear that my G-Grandmother had a half sister that married a Shaffer too, Daniel or David and G-Grandma was born 1857, her maiden name being Sherman. Parents Sherman and Foster (aka Faust, Phister, Frost, Snow, Fisher, and many more. I don't know where in Colorado at this time, but am working on it. I don't know of a Greeley there either but will check map quest. Have you heard of being related to Woolley, Miller, Sullivan, Lehman, Lemon, aka's? I believe the surname of my GG-Grandfather's 1st wife was Garver. I do have records of a Laurie by them and not sure of Sylvester son. Garver wife died and he remarried. My GG-Grandfather died in 1881, I think the year my Grandmother was born. Let's talk, would love to hear from you or anyone that recognizes this family.
