I am looking for the parents of Herbert George Shafer, b 18 May 1858 in Galveston, TX, married Mary Mahalie Stancer 15 Dec. 1889 in Wichita, KS, d 27 Feb 1952 in Miami, OK. I believe his parents to be Albert/Abner Shafer and Shara (surname unknown). Albert & Shara were both killed in a runaway buggy in 1869/1870 (don' t know where). There are at least two other siblings - Cathy and Harry Shafer. Cathy raised Harry and Herbert George after their parents were killed. This is all I know about these SHAFER's. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Karen Block
