I apologize to those who will receive multiples of this message. I'm sending it to a number of Lists. I'm looking for the parents/family of David SHAFFER March 25,1809-1883. He was born in Stoystown, Somerset County and baptized in the Stoystown Lutheran Church. He married Elizabeth DIBERT 1810-1876. She comes from a well-documented genealogy. They were married about 1828. They moved to Laughlintown, Westmoreland County, PA where they lived for the rest of their lives. Their children were: Franklin SHAFFER bn 1831 m. Mary Edward SHAFFER bn 1836 Charles SHAFFER bn 1837 m. Rachel NAUGLE Rachel SHAFFER bn 1838 m. Mr. ALLEN moved to Nebraska John SHAFFER bn abt 1840 m. Catharin Mary SHAFFER bn 1842 m. George PHILLIPPI David R. SHAFFER bn 1845 Elizabeth Caroline SHAFFER bn 1847 m. William Holmes BUELL I have searched and searched for David's family and can't find them. I'm hoping someone will recognize a daughter-in-law or son-in-law. According to the Somerset website http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacquema/bapstlu2.htm#bapstlu2, David's parents are Heinrich and Barbara and the witness was David FOSCJER (which I think is supposed to be FISCHER). But when I checked at the Somerset Historical Society and various internet searches, there is no Heinrich and Barbara with a son David. Can anyone help? Thank you!
