My great grandfather's name was Edward Shaeffer. He fought in Civil War and was in 28th Pa. on Culp's Hill at Gettysburg. He drove a munitions\supply wagon. We have his diary from that time period, which is fascinating. We are in the process of seeing if we can have his name added to the Pa. monument at Gettsyburg. Any Shaeffer relative history is welcome. Edward is buried in Centralia, Pa. Ethel Shaeffer, his daughter, was my grandmother. She died in childbirth in her 40's. Our family is located in Schuylkill Co., Pa. Anyone who wants to compare notes?
