I am posting what little I know: Anton Schafer, presumably born in Prussia about 1844. Immigrated to American prior to 1865. Married a Margaret /?/ who was born in Perrysburg, OH July 12, 1845. They had four children, all born in Michigan: Maria, born in 1868 Anna, born in 1869 Charles Anthony (Tony), born in 1875 "Rudy", born in 1878. Anna married a John Blankhart and settled in Dumont, MN. My last record of Anton was on the MI 1870 Detroit census. I have found no later record of him and have not been able to locate either a death or marriage record. "Tony" (my grandfather) married an Annie Schmitz and they had one child, Anna. His wife died shortly after giving birth. He then married Emma Kemp of Sparta, WI.and they had four children: Sylvester, Elvera Thresa, Elizabeth and Jerome Charles (my father), all born in Gardena, ND. The family moved to Sparta, WI in the early '20's and Tony and Emma both died and are buried there. Anton is the one I really want to find. I would be grateful for any possible leads or suggestions. Jean I have no information on Maria or Rudy.
