I have a John BOYER, Jr. who was born in Holmes Co., OH on 24 Oct 1820 and who died in Willshire Twp., Van Wert Co., OH. His parents, John BOYER, Sr. (born in PA) and Elizabeth (born in OH), also lived and died in Van Wert Co. They lived in neighboring farms there. I found an LDS record of a marriage between John BOYER and Elizabeth SHAFFER on 15 Apr 1819 in Stark County, OH. I think this might be John Sr. and his wife. My theory is strengthened upon finding that John Jr.'s will was witnessed by L.B. SHAFFER in Van Wert Co. I wonder if BOYERs and SHAFFERs might have migrated together to Van Wert County. Does anyone connect? It would be interesting to me if someone had an early SHAFFER will listing this Elizabeth SHAFFER as a BOYER. Many thanks, Sara Reed
