I am guessing that he is one of Daniel A. and Letticia Margaret (KENNEDY) SHAFER's children. The article: "From the Daily Tribune, Wednesday. Harmon SHAFER, of Union township, this county, d. 29 Jan. He was b. 6 Feb. 1827 & was 69 yrs, 11 mos, 23 ds old.. He was b. and mar in Ohio, & moved to St. Joseph county in Aug. 1852. After living in Harris twnshp 18 mos. he moved to his present farm, where he had resided over 40 yrs. He was united with the United Brethren in Christ in 1874 ...
