Does anyone have information on the following family? Wilhelm/William Shaffer, b. 28 July 1775, Berks Co Pa. Who were his parents? The Shaffer family was of German descent, but lived in Alsace, France, before removing to USA. (what date?) Wilhelm married 6 Aug 1799, Trinity & Evan. Luth. Church, Reading, Berks Co Pa. to Sabina/Sophia Bloch/Bloog. About 1816 they left with their family for Stark Co Ohio. I've traced the family from there-on. While in Pa., they had children bapt in Oley Reformed Church, Berks Co; St. Paul's Luth.-Red Hill-Montomery Co Pa; St. John's Evan. Luth & Reformed Church, Wayne Twp., Berks Co, Friedensburg, Pa.; and Zion Luth. & Reformed Church-Old Red-West Brunswick Twp., Berks Co; and Friedens Pine Swamp Luth. Church, Norwegian Twp.
