He served in France during the war and when he returned, he married my grandmother, Myrta (Mamie) Elizabeth Ellis from Rich Hill MO. They traveled around the Kansas oil fields with the rigging crews for several years and my mother, Billie Esther Schaeffer, was born in Augusta KS on 8/23/1924. The name Esther is not among the Ellis family names and I thought maybe it was Jimmy's mother's name. I know nothing of his family at all, not names places, or dates. My grandmother divorced Jimmy when my mother was old enough to go to school because he refused to settle down and he died sometime around 1935 and was buried in the St. Louis area where his stepmother lived. Her name was M. Morrissey. Does my Jimmy Schaeffer sound like he might be part of your Schaeffer line? Any info at all will be welcome. PAT WEHR
